One of Japan’s few licensed falconers welcomes you and your group to the original grounds of the University of Kanazawa, which was a former garden within the Kanazawa castle, to experience the falconry traditions of Kanazawa’s ruling feudal clan.
Due to its wealth and importance during the feudal era, Kanazawa’s ruling clan was one of the few authorized by the Shogun to practice this art and raptor training.
You’ll be able to watch a falcon hunt and soar, treated to the majesty of these birds of prey. Aided by our expert falconer, you’ll experience the falcon land on your arm.
This experience requires booking a minimum of thirty days ahead of time. Your group of two to twenty people will be accompanied by a native-English or Spanish-speaking guide.
Your group will be met in a private-hire vehicle (depending on your group size) at your Kanazawa hotel or west Kanazawa station entrance. The time will be determined by season and the falconer’s recommendations. You will be accompanied by a native English or Spanish-speaking guide.
Your falconry experience is approximately 60 minutes.
Your group will be transported to your choice of location in Kanazawa.
