Lacquerware, Ceramics, and Nature: Wandering in Kaga and Yamanaka
Considered the original home base for two traditional Kanazawa arts: Japanese natural lacquerware and Kutani ceramics; Kanazawa Adventures tour in Kaga and Yamanaka will give you a sense of art and nature and the flourishing of this region between the 17th and 19th centuries.
1. After pick-up at 9:30am in your private car, we’ll drive to Yamanaka and explore the history of Yamanaka natural Lacquerware.
2. You’ll walk down to the riverside and stroll along the Kakusenkei, an ancient path for poets and artisans between Korogi and Ayatori bridges.
3. Yamanaka is known for its mountain hot springs. After coming back across the Daishoji River you’ll enjoy a traditional foot bath.
4. Time for lunch. We’ll enjoy an exceptional meal at La Monbetta.
5. Next you visit the town of Kaga where you’ll visit the Kutaniyaki Art Museum. Exceptional examples of the three main forms of Kutaniyaki pottery, detailed explanation of trading and shipping routes, and the history of Kaga are takeaways from this artfully-designed building.
6. After tea at the museum café, you’ll be back to Kanazawa and dropped at your hotel at 3:30pm.

Cancellation Policy
For a full refund or change of date (pending availability), please communicate by email to info@kanazawaadventures.com at least five days before the scheduled start of your tour. If we receive your cancellation request by email to info@kanazawaadventures.com between three and five days before your scheduled tour starts, we’ll refund 50% of your fee (or change your date, if possible). For all requests received less than 72 hours before the scheduled start time of your tour, no refunds or date changes will be issued. Date changes are one-time only and no refunds will be issued after one date change.
