Hearing stories about the Maeda family’s journeys to Tokyo at the Ishikawa Museum of History. Called sankin kotai, the regional lords were required to travel to Tokyo (Edo) to meet the Tokugawa Shogun and also spend their budgets so they couldn’t hide resources to start a rebellion.
